The short version
We don't sell your personal information. We don't rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers so they can follow you around the internet. Not now, not later, not for a good price. As the Dude would put it, we're not human paraquats.
We collect what we need to get your stuff to you and to answer your emails. That's about it.
Who "we" are
This policy covers Leafy Beaver (leafybeaver.com). Leafy Beaver is part of a small family of brands owned and run by the same people. When this policy says "the family," it means those brands and no one else.
What we collect
When you buy something or contact us, we get:
- Your name, email address, shipping address, and phone number, if you give one
- What you ordered, when, and what you paid
- Anything you write to us in an email or message
- Your email address, if you sign up for our newsletter
We never see or store your full card number. Payment is handled by the payment processors that run checkout.
When you visit the site, the platform that runs our store (Fourthwall) automatically collects basic technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, general location based on your IP, and the pages you view. This information keeps the cart and checkout working, prevents fraud, and shows us simple traffic numbers.
We don't use Google, Facebook, TikTok, or any other advertising pixels on this site.
A note about the shirts. Some of our designs joke about brains, diagnoses, and meds. Buying one doesn't tell us anything about your health, and we don't treat it like it does. We don't collect, infer, or keep health information about you.
How we use it
- To make, ship, and support your order
- To answer your questions and handle returns
- To send our newsletter, if you signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To prevent fraud and keep the store secure
- To keep the books and follow the law (taxes, for example)
- To see, in general terms, what's selling and what isn't, so we can make better stuff
Who we share it with
Partners who help fill your order. These are our store platform (Fourthwall), payment processors, the print shops that make your order, shipping carriers, and our email provider. They get only what they need to do their part, and they can't use your information for their own marketing.
The family. We may share your information within the family brands to run the business: one shared customer inbox, shared bookkeeping, and handling a return across brands. From time to time we may invite you to hear from our other brands. That's strictly opt-in. Buying a Leafy Beaver shirt does not sign you up for anything else, and you can opt back out anytime.
When the law requires it. If we receive a valid legal request, such as a subpoena or court order, we'll comply with it and nothing beyond it.
If the business changes hands. If a family brand is ever sold, its customer information may go to the new owner. They have to keep the promises in this policy, including the one about never selling your data.
That's the whole list. We don't sell your personal information. We don't "share" it for targeted advertising, as California law uses that term. We don't give it to data brokers.
Cookies
Fourthwall uses cookies to keep your cart, run checkout, and count visits. We don't add advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Your browser lets you block or delete cookies, though the cart might stop working. We honor Global Privacy Control signals. There's nothing to opt out of, but you don't have to take our word for it.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we have about you
- Send you a copy of it
- Correct it
- Delete it, except what we're legally required to keep, such as order records for taxes
- Stop emailing you
Email hello@leafybeaver.com and we'll take care of it, usually within a few days and always within 30. We may ask you to confirm it's really you. We won't treat you differently for asking.
If you live in California, the EU, the UK, or a state with its own privacy law, you have these rights under that law too. We give everyone the same rights anyway.
How long we keep it
We keep order records as long as tax and accounting rules require, usually about seven years. We keep newsletter emails until you unsubscribe. We delete everything else once we no longer need it.
Security
We use reputable providers and keep access limited to the people who run the family brands. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and we'll tell you if something goes wrong with your data.
Kids
Our stuff is made for adults, and the humor is aimed at adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Other policies that apply
Fourthwall runs our store and checkout, and its own privacy policy also covers what it does as a platform. Links to other sites aren't covered by this policy.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top. If you're on our email list, we'll tell you before the change takes effect. The "we don't sell your data" part isn't going to change.
